Voyages en Papouasie is above all the story of Philippe Gigliotti’s encounter with a land that was to change his life. In 1996, he discovered Papua New Guinea in the company of his lifelong friend Marc Dozier, and it was obvious: Papua was to be his adopted country! Not a destination to be added to a catalog, but a country to be made his own.

1998: the Immersion
Between 1997 and 2004, Philippe returned to Papua every year for several-month stays, driven by a deep need to discover, understand and immerse himself in this land. Over the course of these long immersions in the villages, these committed treks and shared adventures, year after year, a network of solid links and infinite friendships is woven throughout the country.
2004: The birth
In 2004, under the impetus of Jérôme Kotry (Tamera agency), Philippe began to put his expertise at the service of travelers. First, he set up a local logistics structure in Papua to master every detail in the field. Given the success of these expeditions and the growing demand for tailor-made trips, the “Voyages en Papouasie” agency was officially created in France in 2012.
